Preparing for your appointment
At point of booking
- Please double check my age restrictions, prices for piercing and other services, information about jewellery and policies before requesting an appointment.
- Other useful links include aftercare, stages of healing, frequently asked questions and directions & opening hours.
- Please include as much information as possible that you think may be relevant to your appointment. This may include contact details, a copy of your I.D/confirmation of legal guardian, reference/inspiration photos and any requests.
- Provide any other relevant information that may affect a procedure being performed, such as a health condition, surgery or other cosmetic treatments. I will also never pierce anyone who’s pregnant.
- For certain health conditions or medications I may require a recent doctors note that states there’s no medical reason as to why you can’t have a procedure performed at this time – I will let you know if this applies to you.
- You will need to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure your piercing appointment, which will be taken off the total at the check-up appointment. Other appointment types may also be subject to a non-refundable deposit.
- Think of any questions you’d like to ask if you haven’t already – the more the merrier! You could even make a note of them to bring to the appointment.
- Be open to suggestions or ideas!
- Optional: Fill out a pre-appointment form.
On the day
- If you have existing piercings in the area wear the largest attachments/jewellery that you would usually wear in them. I wouldn’t like to plan to pierce too close and hinder your ability to wear your favourite jewellery!
- Similarly, if you wear glasses or other aids make sure to bring these to the appointment – they could affect certain placement options.
- Wear comfortable and practical clothing that won’t interfere with the piercing site.
- Long hair should be tied back. Don’t panic if you forget – hair bobbles and slides are available free of charge in the studio.
- The area needs to be easily accessible – for example, not wearing a one-piece outfit that needs to be removed to perform a navel check.
- Make sure the area is free from illness or injury and clean of visible debris.
- Trimming or removing body hair shouldn’t be necessary unless it obscures my vision and/or ability to perform the piercing safely.
- No need to bring sanitary products – these are provided free of charge where required to all clients regardless of if they have an appointment booked or not – just ask!
- Make sure any health conditions are managed (e.g. blood sugar level for diabetics) and that you bring a doctors note if this has been requested.
- Don’t forget to bring a method of photographic government issued I.D (such as a passport, driver’s license, PASS card by CitizenCard) and/or your legal guardian/parent if you’re under 18 years old.
- Whenever you book for/expect you may be having a procedure performed, it’s important that you have a light meal or snack within 2 hours of your appointment time. Complimentary refreshments are also available in my consultation area.
- You may bring a maximum of two people to your appointment.
- Allow yourself plenty of time to travel. The upstairs waiting area is shared with other friendly self-employed faces and therefore space is limited, so please try not to arrive more than five minutes before your appointment time.
- If you’re running late please let me know at the earliest opportunity. If you anticipate you’ll be arriving more than five to ten minutes later than your appointment time I may have to offer a later appointment or reschedule for a different day, depending on availability. This is to ensure I can deliver a consistent service to everyone booked in and stick to appointment schedules.
- If you’re unable to attend your appointment I will only transfer a paid, non-refundable deposit to a different booking once and only if the notice was given at least 24 hours in advance (so I have time to offer the appointment time to someone else.) Any additional changes outside of this including a no-show/no-call will result in the original deposit being lost and a new, non-refundable deposit required to reschedule.
- In the case of genuine emergency, transferring a deposit to another booking is at my discretion.
- Anyone who repeatedly reschedules and cancels at short notice or no-shows/no-calls may be required to pay the full cost of any requested service/goods at the point of booking to secure future appointments.
