Policies

What to expect from me

  • All appointments are booking only. This is to ensure I can give all clients my undivided attention and adequately disinfect the room between each sitting. If on the very rare occasion I advertise availability for walk-ins this will be posted on the Facebook page. Sometimes I can accommodate appointments at short notice (such as same day) but this will depend on my availability; get in touch and I’ll see what I can do!
  • You will receive a professional, friendly and tailored service every time. I will always do my utmost best to ensure you feel comfortable, welcomed and informed. If there’s anything you need just ask!
  • This is a safe space! You can expect full confidentiality and double password protected cover on any information provided relevant to your procedure (such as consent forms). Be yourself and have fun, everyone’s welcome here!
  • If on the rare occasion I happen to be running behind on scheduled appointments I will try to inform you as soon as possible, plus provide a rough estimate of waiting times. If you need to rearrange as a result of this then I won’t charge you an additional deposit to re-book.
  • I will always refuse service to anyone under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs. Alcohol thins blood and can lead to excessive bleeding and bruising at the piercing site and like recreational drugs, will distort informed decision making.
  • All procedures are carried out with your safety in mind. Only the highest quality jewellery, equipment and methods will be used. Everything is individually wrapped and either pre sterilized by EO gas or appropriately processed via ultrasonic followed by steam sterilization in an autoclave. All equipment and set-up used are single use and disposable.
  • All jewellery and equipment is analyzed at point of receipt, after processing and before use. Jewellery and attachments used will be appropriate for the placement and anatomy, and fitted securely and appropriately.
  • I will never use or install clients own jewellery in a fresh, healing or healed piercing. Only pieces that have been sourced, inspected and processed by myself in the studio will be used.
  • If you ever have any concerns let me know at the earliest opportunity and I will do my utmost to make things right.
  • I always ensure that I’m up to date with emergency first aid, bloodbourne pathogens and needle stick and sharps training; hard copies of which can be observed in the studio. Additionally my certificate of training, operating license and insurance are available for review.
  • I’m always happy to discuss my processes and measures that ensure your safety. If it’s particularly busy in the studio that day you may wish to book a separate appointment for this.
  • Lastly, if you need to use the toilet, a drink/snack (outside of the piercing room) or to take a short breather at any point then you’re more than welcome. Complimentary refreshments are available including free use of sanitary products where required.

What I expect from you

  • I must be satisfied that you (or the person being pierced) wants the procedure to be performed, understands and accepts any risks associated, and that they will adhere to recommended aftercare advice. Where assistance from a caregiver is required, they must also agree to adhere to aftercare advice.
  • Please respect that the studio is a shared space with separate businesses and staff. For this reason, it’s vital that you arrive to your appointment no sooner than five minutes before your allocated time as waiting areas are limited. If you do arrive earlier and have some time to kill I recommend Rossi Cafe a few doors down – it’s full of lovely staff with amazing food at super reasonable prices!
  • Children must be attended by an adult in the studio at all times and are never permitted to enter the separate building next door where tattooing takes place. They are only permitted inside the piercing room at my discretion, and with the understanding that nothing in the room shall be touched or otherwise disturbed. Additionally, if anything in the piercing room is damaged the caregiver present will be expected to pay for any replacements or fixes.
  • If you’re prone to fainting please let me know at the point of booking so I can allocate additional time as a precaution.
  • If you need to reschedule your appointment for any reason please let me know at the earliest opportunity so your slot can be offered to someone else.
  • I will only transfer a deposit to a different appointment once and only if the notice was given at least 24 hours in advance. Any additional changes outside of this including a no-show/no-call will result in the original £10 non-refundable deposit being lost and a new non-refundable deposit of £10 being payable to reschedule.
  • In the case of emergency, moving a deposit to another appointment is at my discretion.
  • Repeated rescheduling may result in the full amount being payable upfront to secure future appointments.
  • If you’re running late please let me know at the earliest opportunity. If you anticipate you’ll be arriving more than five to ten minutes later than your appointment time I may have to cancel the appointment, resulting in your non-refundable deposit being lost and another being payable to re-book. Depending on availability, I may be able to offer a later same-day appointment or have to reschedule for another day. Moving your deposit to a same-day appointment is at my discretion.
  • As aforementioned, the studio is a safe space. This means that any discriminatory or derogatory language surrounding ethnicity, sex, age, disability or anything else relating to others will not be tolerated. Please be kind and respectful at all times.
  • If you’re taking prescribed medication this will be discussed as part of your consultation. It’s usually easier to bring a copy of your prescription to your appointment so the medication name(s) can be accurately noted on your consent form. If you’re unsure whether or not certain prescribed medication(s) will have an effect on your procedure please mention this at the point of booking.
  • The intended piercing site(s) must be free from injury and illness. Additionally, if you have certain health conditions or ongoing diagnostic testing you may require a recently dated doctors note to confirm you’d be suitable to receive a piercing/procedure at this time.
  • I expect full transparency and honesty regarding any and all information supplied that’s relevant to your procedure so that I can ensure client safety and proper protocol.
  • Please retain any printed or digital receipts provided for future reference.
  • Lastly, to protect other clients, staff and myself, I politely ask that if you’re feeling poorly that I’m contacted at the earliest opportunity so that your appointment can be rearranged. Moving a non-refundable deposit to a new booking is at my discretion.

Before your appointment

  • Please double check the date and time of your appointment. If you’re unsure, contact me at the earliest opportunity so I can locate you in the diary.
  • Arrange your mode of transport and plan your journey, including anyone you’ll be bringing to the appointment. Please also take into consideration any traffic, roadworks or other delays that could cause you to be late.
  • It’s important that you eat a light meal or snack within a couple of hours of your allocated appointment time. Drink plenty of fluids to make sure you’re hydrated.
  • If you have ongoing health conditions make sure these are controlled (such as blood sugar level if you have diabetes).
  • Lastly, if you’ve not already had a consultation/received confirmation that I can perform a specific piercing on you, please have some backup ideas or be open to suggestions.

Age restrictions

  • Please double check my age limits for all services before attempting to book any appointments.
  • The only types of government issued photographic ID accepted are a Passport, Driver’s License (full or provisional) or a PASS card (National Proof of Age Standards Scheme) issued by CitizenCard.
  • These non-negotiable age limits are set in compliance with the law and my insurance provider so it’s important that they’re adhered to at all times. Therefore, anyone who attempts to misrepresent their true age will be refused service and may be asked not to return to the studio in future.
  • If we’re not yet familiar you may be asked to provide proof of age before any booking is confirmed. This is mandatory for intimate piercings (including the tongue) which carry a legal limit of 18+.
  • Parental consent will never be accepted for services where the minimum age limit is 18+.
  • For any services available with parental consent it’s important that the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are present during appointments; including any/all consultation and procedure(s).

Deposits

  • Any deposits required to secure appointments and place custom jewellery orders are non-refundable. They can be paid using cash, card (both in store) or via bank transfer; details sent upon request.
  • Non-refundable deposits for appointments are from £10 and must be paid at the point of booking to secure your slot.
  • If you’re running late to your appointment please let me know at the earliest opportunity. If you anticipate you’ll be arriving more than five to ten minutes later than your appointment time I may have to offer a later appointment or reschedule for a different day depending on availability.
  • If you’re unable to attend your appointment for any reason I will only transfer a paid, non-refundable deposit to a different booking once and only if the notice was given at least 24 hours in advance, so I have chance to offer the appointment time to someone else. Any additional changes outside of this including a no-show/no-call will result in the original deposit being lost and a new, non-refundable deposit required to reschedule.
  • In the case of genuine emergency, transferring a paid deposit to another booking is at my discretion.
  • Anyone who repeatedly reschedules and cancels at short notice or no-shows/no-calls may be required to pay the full cost of any requested service/goods at the point of booking to secure future appointments.
  • Non-refundable deposits for custom jewellery orders are 50% of the jewellery total and are to be paid upfront before any orders are placed, with the rest payable upon collection/installation.
  • Once you’ve been notified that your order is ready for installation, you will be given 12 weeks to pay the remainder of monies owed and arrange collection. If you ignore my attempts to contact you, fail to pay any outstanding balance, decide you no longer want the order or I still haven’t had a response from you after 12 weeks, your 50% non-refundable deposit will be lost and the jewellery would be advertised as for sale.

Gift cards

  • Gift vouchers can be purchased for yourself or for someone else from just £10 with free gift wrapping. I accept cash, card and bank transfer upon collection.
  • For my own records please contact me with the full name and age of the person who will be redeeming the voucher.
  • Gift vouchers cannot be used to buy other gift vouchers and can only be redeemed in store, as full or partial payment for a service or goods.
  • All vouchers are dated from the day of purchase and expire in 1 year from this date.
  • Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and no change will be given.
  • If the product/service costs ever need to be refunded and a voucher was originally used to make the purchase, the amount of money owed to you will be issued by means of a new gift voucher.
  • I’m not responsible if a gift card is lost, stolen, destroyed, or used without permission, and therefore no replacement will be provided in these circumstances.
  • Gift vouchers can only be bought in GBP£ and redeemed in this currency.

Loyalty cards

  • Only a full priced piercing qualifies for a stamp on your loyalty card. Pairs (such as lobes) will count as two stamps, and so on.
  • You must have six verified stamps on your card to redeem your free £25 spend. Loyalty cards can be used as full or partial payment against any services or goods.
  • Loyalty cards cannot be exchanged for cash and no change will be given.
  • To keep things simple, only the person named on the loyalty card can collect and redeem stamps for that card.
  • Once you’ve filled your card and redeemed your spend, a new blank card will be issued to you.

Inside the piercing room

  • No food or drink is permitted to be brought inside the room where procedures take place; I have a separate area for refreshments.
  • No smoking is permitted, including the use of vapes.
  • Please try and limit the amount of people you bring to your appointment. Ideally, this should be limited to three people in total, including the person being pierced and any chaperones. Where there are more than three people attending an appointment I must be given notice beforehand so I can arrange the space appropriately.
  • Please don’t touch anything! If anything becomes broken, damaged, lost or tampered with, you will be expected to pay the costs of replacements/fixing.
  • Please respect the privacy of clients and myself. Taking photos or recording is not permitted unless you have my permission before the procedure starts and agree not to distract the client or myself while I’m working.

Jewellery: Lifetime guarantee

All jewellery stocked is guaranteed to last a lifetime with care and is covered against any manufacturer defects and workmanship. Only the best verified implant grade materials are used in all pieces by the industry leaders in quality body jewellery for fresh and healed piercings. Better threading reduces the risk of attachment loss and the hand polished mirror finish can aid in potentially faster and uneventful piercing healing. Any crystals or stones featured are pressure set meaning no glue is used in the manufacturing process. All jewellery stocked has been sourced, inspected and processed by me in the studio.

What isn’t covered

  1. Accidental damage: Although these pieces are made with care they’re not indestructible! This includes damage to all components; the metal, threads and any stone/setting.
  2. Jewellery loss: As agreed in your consent form it’s your responsibility to regularly ensure that any attachments are secure at all times.
  3. Cross matching brands: This is generally not encouraged as thread patterns can vary between brands.
  4. Anodized Titanium & Niobium/blackened Niobium finish: Although these finishes can last a *very* long time with care, anodization will generally still fade over time. The speed of this depends on if the jewellery is in a high contact/movement area, exposed to certain chemicals (like hair dye!) and your skins natural pH level. The good news is that faded, anodized jewellery still maintains its high bio-compatibility and can be re-anodized if required (just cover postage and service fee!)
  5. Stones: Discoloration can happen with any stone/cubic zirconia/fauxpal opal etc, no matter the grade or quality. This mainly occurs in areas that regularly attract moisture or come into contact with beauty products, such as fake tan or hair products. Therefore it’s your responsibility to protect and care for any stones in your jewellery and limit their exposure to anything harmful. With that being said, all pieces stocked are built to stand the test of time and look perfect for years to come. If you do discover an issue with a stone let me know and I’ll try my best to help!

Returns

Unless there’s a fault with your jewellery, opened or worn jewellery cannot be returned due to hygiene reasons.

In the unlikely event a piece of jewellery is faulty and needs to be returned:

1. I must be informed of any concerns at the earliest opportunity and will only accept returns up to 30 days from the date any claim is initiated.

2. Used jewellery eligible for return must be bagged and marked as ‘WORN’ to be accepted. It must also be free from visible bio matter such as blood and crust.

3. Upon receipt, the piece will be sent back to the supplier so it can be independently reviewed. If it’s found to be defective you will have the choice of a refund or a suitable replacement.

4. Although the suppliers always aim to make things right, they do reserve the right to refuse any returns not covered by the guarantee. Where returns are initiated for poor fit of the attachment and/or bar but are subsequently found to fit for example, the jewellery would be returned at the client’s cost and no remedy would be offered.

5. Returns for any other reasons are not accepted and all sales are final.

Additional information

  • I will never pierce anyone that’s pregnant. Your body needs all the energy it can get to grow your little one. If you’ve recently given birth I recommend you wait until at least three months postpartum before getting a new piercing. For nipple piercings, I recommend you wait at least a few months or more after you’ve completely finished breastfeeding. Wearing jewellery in the nipple is extremely dangerous and never recommended as it’s a choking hazard to your baby and can inhibit successful latching.
  • As a valued client, you have access to complimentary sanitary products where required. This includes maxi pads, sensitive biodegradable wet wipes and body spray. You have free use of these items regardless of if you have an appointment booked that day; just pop in and ask! All I ask is that a maximum of two pads are taken per person a day to leave enough for others.
  • Water, squash, tea (including decaff), coffee and hot chocolate is available free of charge and is provided in a designated cup. However, I recommend you avoid ingesting caffeine before your appointment as it increases your heart rate.
  • All policies and restrictions are non-negotiable and all sales are final.
  • If you wish to discuss anything outlined in my policies feel free to contact me at your convenience and I’ll be happy to assist.
